Project Overview

Royal Park Salvage were engaged by Green Industries South Australia (GISA) to assist with the bushfire clean-up works following the devastating fires that ravaged over half of Kangaroo Island in early January 2020. Initial contractual works were to make safe the properties damaged by the fires, of particular concern were the numerous sites that contained asbestos. Every property was visited and thoroughly inspected for asbestos containing materials (ACM). All suspect items were thoroughly sprayed with an adhesive mix to supress and seal any loose particles. Following this, further plant, machinery and labour were brought across to the island to facilitate structural demolition and remediation of the numerous residences, commercial properties and National Park assets. At the peak of the works, RPS were operating 4 separate crews on the island consisting of 4 excavators, 10 trucks, 3 water carts and up to 20 personnel. Contractual works were successfully completed mid-May 2020.
